April 10 2015, Updated 7:36 a.m. ET
Move over Teresa Giudice! There's a new diva in New Jersey, — and it's none other than Melissa Gorga.
With 42-year-old Giudice locked up in a federal prison, her estranged sister-in-law is itching to take over the starring role in The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
"Melissa realizes that she has a huge opportunity now with Teresa gone," a source close to the reality vixens tells RadarOnline.com.
"She is going to be the star now since Teresa is behind bars and she's loving her new role."
Long-suffering Gorga has spent her last few years on the show battling rumors about her personal life that always seemed to stem from Giuidice (who can forget Strippergate!)
But, the source insists, the days of Gorga getting pushed around are over!
"Melissa is relieved that she isn't going to have to defend herself with all the lies that she believes Teresa was spreading about her," explains the source.
