Big Noho: Soho House Denies Access To Kim Kardashian; She ‘Unsuccessfully Tried’ To Gain Membership; Real Housewives Also Barred

It seems Kim Kardashian is everywhere—even on the pages of Vogue —but one barrier she reportedly can’t cross is the velvet rope at the exclusive Los Angeles Soho House nightclub.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian has repeatedly tried to get membership to the private hot spot but has been denied.
In celebrating the Soho House’s five-year anniversary in West Hollywood, former membership director Tim Geary told THR, “Kim Kardashian has unsuccessfully tried numerous times.”
While he didn’t elaborate on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star’s apparent humiliation, Geary also implied reality TV fame doesn’t cut any ice with the club, saying, ““We denied access to every Real Housewife who applied.”
He added to THR, “There was debate over Britney Spears. Not sure how that played out. We tried not to give membership to people who would fuel paparazzi or bring press.”
In fact, the members’ only club on Los Angeles’ famed Sunset Blvd. is so strict that even a basketball great was left out, as Geary disclosed, “Kobe Bryant showed up and chose not to join. We didn’t let him up.”

Soho House’s snooty reputation was solidified when its New York venue was featured in a Sex and the City episode in which Samantha (Kim Cattrall) pretended to be a member by using a stolen membership card.
While such stars as Cameron Diaz, Bradley Cooper, and Robert Pattinson have been spotted partying at Soho House, giving memberships to both celebrities and regular folks is a touchy subject.
According to Geary, “The hardest memberships to deal with…were the headmistress of the school you want your kids to get into and the coaches of my sons’ baseball and soccer teams.”
