Saved By the Bell star Dustin Diamond did not get off on the right foot with cops after his arrest following a Wisconsin bar fight. RadarOnline.com has learned the actor best known as “Screech” initially claimed he’d lashed out with a pen, before admitting he did slash a bystander with a switchblade.
Diamond and his girlfriend were both arrested after the scuffle at the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, Wisconsin, late Thursday night, according to police. Witnesses told police the fight started when Diamond’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Amanda Schutz, pushed another woman at the bar. According to a report obtained by Radar, Schutz told police she did it because the woman was “continuously antagonizing them, making rude remarks and playing games with them.”
Diamond claimed he jumped in with his “pen” to help when a man jump on his girlfriend. “I moved his arm up and around, and I had the knife in my hand, or the, ah, pen in my hand,” the police officer quotes Diamond as saying.
“Office Nye observed that twice during his conversation with Diamond, as Diamond was talking about having a pen in his hand he referred to it as a knife, and then corrected himself saying it was a pen,” the police report said. “When Officer Nye confronted Diamond with a video taken in the bar and that law enforcement had found a knife with moisture, possibly blood on it, as well as the victim being treated at the hospital for a stab wound, Diamond conceded that he was armed with a knife.”

Diamond told police the stabbing was not intentional “but that chaos broke out and people were grabbing at him and that he swung his arms to break free.”
The actor was still locked up in the Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, jail late Friday.
The man who Diamond, 37, allegedly stabbed is recovering from a wound under his right arm that was not life-threatening, the police report said.
