Gretchen Rossi Claims Slade Smiley’s Ex-Girlfriend Didn’t Tell Him About Son’s Hospitalization -- Declares They Didn’t Neglect Him

Former The Real Housewives of Orange County stars Gretchen Rossi and fiancé Slade Smiley are fighting back against web accusations that they partied instead of showing up to his cancer-stricken son Grayson’s bedside when the boy was hospitalized.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Rossi  called the charges “absurd,” and explained that Grayson’s mother Michelle Arroyo, Smiley’s ex-girlfriend, didn’t inform him of the health crisis.

And Smiley, 41, and Rossi enjoyed a surprise party Smiley had organized for Rossi’s 36th birthday at a different time frame from his son’s hospital visit, she said.

Smiley’s son, now 13, is battling a couple of different rare forms of brain cancer.

Rossi fumed to RadarOnline.com, “Michelle made a Facebook post on Saturday, November 1, for everyone to see that Grayson went into the hospital. She did not even notify Slade about it and he had to find out through a third source, which personally I think is wrong.”

According to Rossi, “When he called Michelle to find out what was going on she said because of Grayson’s compromised immune system they admitted him to the hospital, but that he was fine and was released from the hospital.”

The couple was let go from RHOC but recently talked about Grayson’s illness on the reality show Marriage Bootcamp.

But Rossi objects to those who jump to conclusions about the situation, telling RadarOnline.com, “The individuals and blogs who continue to use his son's illness to promote false information in order to try to make us look bad or claim that Slade doesn't care about his son are disgusting. Obviously they are just trying to drive traffic to their websites.

“Slade loves Grayson very much and just so it's clear he would ALWAYS choose to be with his son over anything else -- unfortunately he is not always given that choice."

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Smiley has wrestled with child support payment issues with Arroyo  in the past and his former RHOOC co-star Tamra Barney called him “a deadbeat with a sick son.”

He and Rossi are reportedly trying in vitro fertilization in an attempt to have their own child.
