Amanda Bynes will be landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday afternoon, as her family hopes she will finally agree to get the mental health help they believe she needs.
Her parents "are hopeful with Amanda's return to Los Angeles that she will get the help she desperately needs," a family source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
Rick and Lynn are devastated their daughter has made shocking and false allegations that Rick sexually abused the troubled starlet.
Earlier on Friday, Rick and Lynn Bynes released an official statement to RadarOnline.com exclusively through their family lawyer, Tamar Arminak.
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for,” the statement reads. “He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
The family’s statement came after Amanda released a series of disturbing messages on social media, alleging her father had sexually abused her --- only to recant soon after saying a "microchip implanted" in her brain made her say those things.
It's unclear if Amanda has agreed to see her family, but "they only want the best for her, and having her back in Los Angeles is a step in the right direction," the source added.
