Although prosecutors have dropped the assault charges against Justin Bieber from an altercation that he had in Canada while vacationing with his on-again girlfriend Selena Gomez, family and friends of Gomez tell RadarOnline.com exclusively that they "fear for her safety” if she continues to date the fast-living pop star.

“She knows he is a criminal and everyone fears that it is only a matter of time before she gets hurt, again,” a close friend of the “Come & Get It” singer tells Radar.

Gomez, 22, and Bieber, 20, have broken up and gotten back together countless times and although her family has tried to intervene, the insider adds, “Selena is now an adult and there is nothing that anyone can do. Her parents just wish he would go away for good!”

Even though the “Beauty and a Beat” singer and Gomez have been on-again, off-again since 2010, a breakup simply cannot mend a broken heart.

“When she is not with him she is obsessing over him,” the source adds. “She has changed her number, she has blocked him on all of her social media, but she keeps going back to the same thing that makes her miserable!”
