A video released by the terror organization known as ISIS shows U.S. freelance journalist James Foley being beheaded.

The footage, titled “A Message To America,” was posted to social media sites as a response to increased bombing against ISIS in Iraq. The video has since been taken down.

The fighter, who covered his head with a black scarf, cut off the journalist’s head after he read a message that allegedly was written by his captors. Foley’s message warned that the “real killer” is America.

“I call on my friends, family and loved ones to rise up against my real killers, the U.S. Government. For what will happen to me is only a result of their complacency and criminality,” Foley says.

Foley then proceeds to address his brother, John, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force.

“I died that day John, when your colleagues dropped that bomb on those people, they signed my death certificate. I wish I had more time. I wish I could have the hope of freedom and seeing my family once again. But that ship has sailed. I guess all in all I wish I wasn’t American.”

The 40-year-old journalist was captured while covering the Syrian war in 2012. After Foley finishes his speech, the masked fighter directly addresses President Barack Obama.

“So any attempt by you, Obama, to deny the Muslims their rights of living in safety under the Islamic caliphate will result in the bloodshed of your people.”

He then presumably cuts Foley’s head off.

U.S. Intelligence is working to verify the authenticity of the video, according to reports.
