It may have been her second walk down the aisle, but Jessica Simpson still looked like an exquisite bride!
In PEOPLE’s exclusive first photos from the July 5 wedding, the fashion mogul stunned in a custom Carolina Herrera strapless gown with gold embroidery as she said “I do” to her fiancé of four years, Eric Johnson, 34.
Despite shedding her baby weight, the 34-year-old mom of two insisted that feeling like royalty trumped flaunting her figure.
“Everybody thought I was going to wear a dress that completely showed off my new bod,” she told the magazine. “But I can’t help but want a princess dress. I’m a Southern girl at heart. I like everything big!”
Indeed, she went all out for the affair, held at Montecito, California’s luxurious San Ysidro Ranch. Flanked by 12 bridesmaids, the star made her entrance to an 18-piece orchestra’s rendition of the score from 1998 film Great Expectations.
At the reception, guests dined on a four-course meal featuring sea bass and short ribs, then danced to a live band.
“We had seven different singers. I was very selective about the music, and everybody had the time of their lives,” Simpson said, adding that her daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 1, hit the dance floor hard. “Eric danced with both kids!”
And the party didn’t end there. After Simpson slipped into a Zuhair Murad mini dress, the newlyweds hosted an afterparty that ended at 5:30 am!
“The whole weekend has been completely magical for all of us,” Simpson sums up. “We’ve really built such a beautiful life.”
As RadarOnline.com reported, Simpson approved and accepted her father Joe’s wedding date, 21-year-old model Jonathan Keith.
Though Joe denies he’s gay, “Jess has a lot of gay friends and accepts everyone for who they are,” a family insider told Naughty But Nice Rob. “She doesn’t care what people say about her dad, she loves him and wants him to be happy.”
