Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford has completed a court required personal financial management class as part of her bankruptcy proceedings, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
Rutherford filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this summer, because of huge legal bills in her custody battle of her two children with ex-hubby, Daniel Giersch. The bankruptcy docs revealed that the actress was over $2 million in debt, and her monthly income was only $1,279.33. At the height of her stint on Gossip Girl, she was earning $486,000 a year.
Under federal law, Rutherford was required to take a class in managing money. According to court docs obtained exclusively by Radar, she completed the course online via the Debtor Wise Foundation on August 1.
The blonde beauty recently sold her West Hollywood bungalow, and lost nearly $300,000 in the sale. In 2005, she paid $1.25 million for the house, and it eventually sold for $980,000.
Rutherford has publicly revealed that she is essentially homeless, and has been living with friends.
