Tamra Barney may have had her happily ever after moment when she married Eddie Judge on June 15, but behind-the-scenes, things were not as rosy as the cameras had you believe.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star was locked in a bitter feud with her ex-husband Simon about whether the couple's three children would appear on camera, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned -- a fight she ultimately lost.
"Simon has refused to allow his children to appear on the Real Housewives of Orange County since his split from Tamra and he wasn't about to change his view for the wedding," a production insider revealed to Radar.
"Producers of the show had approached him to allow the kids to appear on the show, Tamra's OC Wedding. The kids were even offered financial compensation. But Simon wouldn't budge. He blocked it."
As we first reported, the mother-of-four's nuptials at the St. Regis Hotel in Monarch Beach, Calif., will form part of a spin-off series to air on Bravo during fall, titled Tamra's OC Wedding.
But while Tamra's eldest son, Ryan, from her first marriage, could make it into the final edit, there will not be a glimpse of 45-year-old Tamra's three children with Simon -- Sidney, Spencer and Sophia.
"Simon says he's protecting Sidney, Spencer and Sophia by not allowing them to appear on camera and preserving their privacy, even though they'd previously appeared when he and Tamra were together," the insider added.
In a tweet on June 26, Tamra hinted at the spat with her ex and accused Simon of being "nasty" and said he didn't even want the kids at the wedding.
As a result, the floodgates of criticism opened up, with one fan accused Simon of being hypocritical given their past appearances.
"There's a BIG difference in the show's reputation back then, then now. It's embarrassing," Simon responded on Twitter.
He added, "My kids hate the show and how embarrassing it is. And they don't want to be recognized and/or associated with it."
Another fan said Simon opened himself his family to be judged when he previously signed on to star on a reality television program.
"I didn't want to be on it," retorted Simon. "But the grief I received from her persuaded the issue."
The couple, who were married for 11 years and had three children together, announced their split in 2010.
According to the papers filed by Simon, Tamra was "verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity." She claimed he physically assaulted her repeatedly during in the presence of their children.
