Van Amstel added, "It was for me, a dream come true. I had it once before in season nine with Kelly Osbourne, and this lived up to that … I love you, but unfortunately our journey finishes here."
The Cheetah Girls beauty, 28, told Access Hollywood she was surprised getting bounced after Monday's strong showing.
"You're not ever really prepared. I think today was -- it was tough for me. From the beginning of the day, it felt like doomsday for me. I was crying all through the trailer and hair and makeup and it was just really tough day and then to be out there and to see that we were at the bottom.
"I immediately went to Louis and said, 'I'm sorry, it's us. It has to be.' I just, all of a sudden, got a gut feeling."
Elsewhere Tuesday, Taylor Swift and Jason Mraz performed, while the audience was treated to a hip-hop dance display from Macy's Stars of Dance.
