Katie Holmes is filing for divorce from Tom Cruise for her daughter and for her freedom, says her friend — not for a grand-slam portion of Tom's estimated $270 million fortune.
"Tom has control issues, so she filed for sole custody of Suri to avoid having to deal with a 50/50 split built on the whims of Tom's dominance. He's a great dad to Suri, and Katie would never take their daughter away from him, but filing for sole custody was a smart move.
"If she wanted Tom's money, she would've stayed married. As it is, if Katie's prenup is anything like Nicole Kidman's was, she could end up with around $25 million. But that would be fine; it's all about the freedom."
