Bobby Brown: I Worry About Bobbi Kristina Doing Drugs
May 3 2012, Published 9:00 a.m. ET
In the second part of NBC's interview with Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown, the first in which he's spoken since her death two months ago, the Don't Be Cruel singer opened up about his relationship with daughter Bobbi Kristina, as well as other family members.
"She's a strong girl: her mom taught her well," the Roni singer said. "I think we raised her really well, she's fine, she knows that her mom is gone and she knows that she has to live."
Matt Lauer asked Bobby if he was concerned with reports Bobbi Kristina "was seen smoking pot" and possibly doing other drugs.
"I would always be worried about that," the Every Little Step singer said, adding it's not a huge concern right now. "Because I know: I know what she is actually doing.
"I think people are, you know, making assumptions of what my daughter is and how strong she is," he said. "People tend to want to control strong-willed people and that's what I see."
Asked about rumors she's dating her so-called ‘adopted’ brother Nick Gordon, Bobby said, "She's a young lady … you know, I would expect her to have a boyfriend."

Bobby said his daughter denied to him she's dating Nick, adding he has nothing against the young man.
Bobby, 43, told Lauer he's reached out to Whitney's mother Cissy since the singer's passing, but hasn't "been able to reach her yet" in the two months since the death.
"I know she's going through it deeply, deeply going through it," the On Our Own singer said. "She lost her only daughter. I love her dearly, and I'm here anytime. Anytime she wants to talk, I'm here."
