American Idol: Which Singer Was Sent Home?
May 11 2012, Published 8:00 a.m. ET
Hollie Cavanagh is going home.
The 18-year-old McKinney, Texas native stumbled badly performing Journey's Faithfully and Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me on Wednesday's show, on a night her competition was at the top of their game, to boot. She sang Miley Cyrus's The Climb for her swan song.
Cavanagh received the fewest of what Ryan Seacrest estimated as 70 million viewer votes.
Louisiana gospel prodigy Joshua Ledet, Georgia pawn shop worker Phillip Phillips and San Diego teen Jessica Sanchez remain in competition for this year's crown. They will visit their hometowns prior to next week's round.
