The body of Whitney Houston arrived via a golden hearse to a Newark, New Jersey funeral home Monday night, and RadarOnline.com has pictures of the sad scene in the wake of the singer’s shocking death this weekend.
Officials said the singer’s body was flown on director/actor Tyler Perry’s private jet from Los Angeles into New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport and onto Whigham Funeral Home, where security was high as dozens of fans and onlookers gathered for a last glance at the pop icon.
The singer had strong New Jersey roots, as she was born in Newark and grew up in East Orange.
Plans for her funeral and a possible large scale memorial service were in the offing, and would likely be finalized Tuesday.
As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, officials have wrapped up the Run To You singer’s autopsy, but it might be several weeks before they can determine what killed the Grammy-winner.
A source tells us that Houston's preliminary autopsy results are in, and that sedatives, specifically benzodiazepines, were in the late pop singer's system. (Xanax, lorazepam, and valium are all benzodiazepines.)
The I Have Nothing singer, who sought help for a crack addiction last year, was seen in public for the final time late Thursday in Hollywood, looking disheveled and sporting cuts as she left a club.
