Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown has issued a statement about the singer's death.
"I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi-Kristina," Brown said.
"I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time."
Houston and Brown were married from 1992 to 2007. Their relationship was rocky almost from the start, and was impacted by violence and substance abuse. At the time of their divorce, Whitney was granted full custody of their daughter.
