Skate parks and skateboards were all the rave this weekend in Los Angeles!

The Tony Hawk foundation held its eighth annual "Stand Up for Skate Parks" fundraiser event at billionaire investor Ron Burkle’s exclusive Green Acres Beverly Hills estate on Sunday, and RadarOnline.com was on the red carpet.

The foundation funds and oversees the building of skate parks in low income areas to better the community. The celebrity guests and their families were greeted by goody bags that included mini DUB cars and back packs to carry into the event.  In all the fun, a life sized LEGO Darth Vader joined in to help usher in the guests.

Celebrity tattoo artist and all around hottie Kat Von D told our Jessica Campbell: "I've been a big follower of what Tony does for a long time. Last year I donated a really cool skateboard that I did some graphics for and they auctioned it off. So it always feels good to be a part of it.  I think everything Tony does I'm like a big fan of."

Iron Man director and actor Jon Favreau who has been supporting the foundation for years said: "To have a guy like Tony Hawk who they (the kids) think is cool...step up on their behalf and involve them in the process and then see the fruits of their labor; to me is very inspiring."

Foundation creator and pro skating legend Tony Hawk told Jessica: "It gives the kids a sense of community.  Especially the kids that are choosing to do a sport that is maybe different, alternative, and individualistic. I think the fact that they have a place to go...they really feel like the community cares about them and they thrive and stay healthy."
