Seems the only person truly blindsided by Kim Kardashian’s decision to file for divorce is her soon-to-be ex-husband, Kris Humphries.
The NBA player released a statement shortly after Kim filed, proclaiming his desire to try and work things out.
"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce,” Humphries said via his rep. “I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
However, it could well be that whatever Kris tries to do just won’t be enough. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, it wasn’t exactly a match made in heaven for the sports star and the reality maven.
“They never should have gotten married in the first place,” a source said. “It was all way too fast…she will do anything for attention – she is completely self absorbed, he got caught up in the excitement but they have nothing in common.”

Meanwhile, Kim released a statement, insisting that she was sad to file for divorce and that she wished their 72 day long marriage had “lasted forever.”
"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," she said. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
