A crazed gunman opened fire just before 9 a.m. PDT at a Carson City, Nevada IHOP restaurant on Tuesday morning before turning the gun on himself, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
"There's seven in surgery either at Renown Medical Center in Reno and in Carson City," Chief Deputy Jack Freer said.
"The suspect did die of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No shots were fired by law enforcement."
Besides the unnamed gunman, two other people have already died from injuries sustained by the gunshot wounds, according to CNN.
Freer told ABCNews.com preliminary investigation leads authorities to believe the male shooter is an ex-employee of the popular breakfast restaurant.
