Wedding bells rang out in Chicago Saturday as The View co-host Sherri Shepherd married TV writer Lamar ‘Sal’ Sally.
The couple, who had been dating for a little more than a year and became engaged in December 2010, held the star-studded bash at the Fairmont Hotel in Sherri's home town.
The bride, 44, wore a custom-designed Rivini gown as she was walked down the aisle by her six-year-old son Jeffrey.
"I want fiancé Lamar Sally to know that when my son walks me down the aisle, you're not only getting me, but you're getting this little boy," she told People magazine earlier this year. "He's going to give me away because it's symbolic that he's giving me away for this man to protect me and protect him."

Her bridesmaids included her co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Niecy Nash, Kym Whitley, Yvette Nicole Brown, Cynthia Occelli and Wendy Peel.
As RadarOnline.com reported earlier today, her co-host Joy Behar beat her to the wedding punch this week. Behar married her longtime boyfriend in a private ceremony Thursday night in Manhattan.
Sherri also revealed on The View that the wedding cake would be red velvet – her favorite.
The nuptials were filmed for a one-hour special for The Style Network and earlier this year Sherri joked about the rising cost of the lavish event. “It's amazing how much a reception is!" she said, only half joking.
In her final hours as a single woman Sherri shared her time with her bridesmaids who “burst into the hotel room in their own footed pyjamas,” she tweeted on Friday night.
"Just had the most amazing bachelorette party with my bridesmaids," Sherri tweeted hours later. "Much food, laughter and love in this room. Can't wait to open my gifts!"
And just minutes before the ceremony began, Sherri got in one last tweet, "What happens when you are in your wedding dress and you have to tinkle? Uh-oh!"
We're sure she'll tell us when The View comes back live to start its new season on September 6.
