Testimony will resume Tuesday morning in the emotionally-charged Casey Anthony murder trial in central Florida, and once again, RadarOnline.com will live stream the proceedings, starting at 9am ET.
It will be interesting to hear from Judge Belvin Perry as he opens court Tuesday. On Monday, Judge Perry exploded and slammed the attorneys in the high-profile murder case before abruptly ending court early for the day.
“Yes there has been gamesmanship in this particular case,” the judge said as he dismissed the jury for the day Monday.
Casey Anthony’s defense attorney Jose Baez and state attorney Jeff Ashton have repeatedly argued recently, causing the judge to say: “It is quite evident there is a friction between attorneys,” on Monday.
Ashton had said he intended to ask for new sanctions against Baez for not disclosing information about witnesses he intended to call. Baez countered saying Ashton is attacking him personally. “He wants to go after the lawyer, too. I think it is repulsive,” he stated.
The judge admonished both lawyers for creating the delays and threatened to increase the work day hours and have court last the entire day Saturday instead of just half a day.
“I’m getting very, very close to starting this proceeding every morning at 8:30,” he said. “All of this folks is going to stop or you will be working some very fierce days. Be prepared Saturday to go the whole day.”
Casey, 25, is being tried for the first degree murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee Marie, whose body was found in December 2008, six months after she was reported missing.
The Orlando, Florida woman’s defense claims Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool on June 16, 2008, and that Casey’s father, George Anthon, lied and covered it up. Prosecutors contend Casey murdered her daughter.
If she is found guilty, she may face the death penalty.
