The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson said the late Princess Diana "would have been the best of friends" with her son's new bride, the former Kate Middleton.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Tonight Thursday, Fergie said the princess would have felt "total pride" in watching the historical wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this past April 29.
“It was an amazing day!” Morgan said.
"I know she would have been delighted, because she would have got her daughter," Fergie told Morgan of her close pal, who died in a 1997 auto accident in Paris. “She always wanted a little girl ... Kate’s so serene -- she glides like a swan.”
“Would Diana have been jealous of all the attention on Kate?" Morgan asked, to which Fergie said, “Not at all, not at all.”
Fergie joked that her 1986 wedding kiss to Prince Andrew trumped William and Kate's.

"But they did two kisses!" Morgan said.
While Fergie was left off the guest list at the royal wedding, her daughters with ex-husband Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, attended the lavish affair.
The Duchess of York continues to shake off the stigma of her scandal last year, in which she was caught on tape negotiating a shady deal with an undercover News of the World reporter, trying to sell business access to Prince Andrew.
Fergie told Morgan on Thursday she was misrepresented in the matter, and wouldn't ever betray her ex-husband.
Fergie's new six-part documentary Finding Sarah, premieres on Oprah Winfrey's OWN on Sunday at 9/8c.
