It's the dawn of a new era on The Today Show.
Ann Curry, who's been the show's anchor for 14 years, officially took over in the anchor role vacated by Meredith Vieira.
"I'm Ann Curry, in for I guess nobody this morning -- me, myself and I," the beautiful 54-year-old said as the program began Thursday. "It's nice to be able to say that, isn't it?"
The show even replayed the intro for posterity.
Co-anchor Matt Lauer said "it's a little bit like a member of the family moving to a new seat at the table."
Later in the broadcast, after they showed highlights of Curry’s most memorable moments on the show, she was moved to tears coming out of the piece.
As we previously reported, the Today Show's 9 am anchor Natalie Morales takes over Curry's news spot, while White House correspondent/ MSNBC personality Savannah Guthrie will take over the 9 am anchor slot.
Curry is a fixture at the Peacock Network, having has also been seen on NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC.
