VIDEO: Richard Hatch (Yes, Richard Hatch) Returns To Celebrity Apprentice
May 16 2011, Published 12:45 p.m. ET
Richard Hatch must have been the toast of his cell block Sunday night.
The original Survivor winner, who's currently behind bars in New York, made a surprise return to Celebrity Apprentice Sunday night along with most of this season’s other eliminated contestants on the (obviously long ago) pre-taped edition of the NBC show.
As we previously reported, the 50-year-old surrendered to U.S. Marshals on March 14 to begin a nine-month prison sentence in connection with unpaid taxes from his $1 million prize for winning the CBS hit in 2000. (Hatch previously spent three years behind bars in connection with another tax evasion conviction.)
The Donald fired Hatch on the show's April 3rd broadcast, but not before giving him big words of praise.
"When I think of Survivor, I think of Richard Hatch," Trump said. "He's great, he's unbelievably intelligent."
This season's winner -- which comes down to Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin and country singer John Rich -- will be crowned when Celebrity Apprentice airs in a special live edition this coming Sunday at 9/8c on NBC. (Don't expect Hatch to make an appearance on the finale).
