As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, the trip had a number of roadblocks, as local officials saw to it that the show would not film the cast drinking, and yanked their permits to tape at local landmarks such as the art gallery Uffizi and historic town hall Palazzo Vecchio.

But on Friday, all systems were go for the MTV ratings-getters to make the trip from Newark to the motherland.

The Situation's controversial father Frank Sorrentino said in a Youtube video he thinks the cast "will all be shunned" while in Italy.
