Here Comes The Brides! Chely Wright Is Engaged To Her Girlfriend

Nearly a year after revealing her sexuality, country singer Chely Wright announced on Wednesday that she is engaged, and will marry her girlfriend Lauren Blitzer on August 20th, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The country singer, who came out last May, confirmed the happy news to People Magazine.
Wright, who has been active in the country music scene since winning the Top New Female Vocalist awards at the Academy of Country Music in 1995, was the first major country star to come out as gay, chronicling the experience in her autobiography Like Me: Confessions of a Heartland Country Singer, which was released at the same time she came out.
Blitz, her fiancée, is a GLBT Civil Rights activist.
