Oscar-winning Traffic director Steven Soderbergh was sued Wednesday in New York by Frances Lawrencina Anderson, an Australian woman who claims he fathered the baby girl she delivered in August, and wants him to start paying child support.
Anderson said in court papers the 48-year-old filmmaker helped her with medical expenses throughout her pregnancy, RadarOnline.com has learned, and "has acknowledged that he is the father of the child verbally."
Anderson said she had a tryst with the director while he was directing a play in Sydney.
Soderbergh has been been married to Jules Asner since 2003 in December 2009.
Soderbergh has also directed hits such as Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Erin Brockovich and Ocean's Eleven.
