With the Grammys airing Sunday night on CBS, who better than Grammy-winning artist /actor LL Cool J to exclusively give RadarOnline.com the lowdown on hot nominees such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry?
RadarOnline.com spoke with LL recently at one of his favorite hang-outs: the Gendarmerie -- a trendy boutique spa in West Hollywood.
So what's LL's take on Bieber, the pop culture phenomenon who's stolen the hearts of tween girls everywhere, en route to a nomination for best new artist this year?
Justin Bieber's "really blessed," LL told us exclusively at a private party at West Hollywood's Gendarmerie spa. "As a guy who started really young in hip hop," LL said he faced a "similar kind of experience" on his way up the charts.
"I can definitely related to Justin Bieber, and I'm really happy for him," the Mama Said Knock You Out singer said.
LL said he was happy for Eminem's critical successes rivaling his commercial ones, as the Detroit based rapper's up for a career-high 10 Grammys.
"We weren't eligible for Grammys for most of my career," he said. "To see him nominated for 10, that means we're moving in the right direction."
The NCIS: Los Angeles star said Lady Gaga, who's up for six honors, is "tremendously creative, and skilled at selling the unconventional.
"Unlike some people, she doesn't wear you out with it -- it doesn't get old," he said of the Telephone singer.
Katy Perry's Teenage Dream got a nod for best album of the year, and LL said that the "California gurl" should be primed for more honors in her career, as she possesses an arsenal of qualities key in making a successful pop star.
"Katy Perry is amazing," LL told us. "She's pretty, she's talented, she's smart she can sing.
"The sky's the limit."
