A hobbled Kelly Ripa was on crutches again on Live with Regis & Kelly Tuesday, as she recovers from a stress fracture in the femoral neck of her right hip.

Ripa said of her condition, "Who ever heard of such a thing?" adding that her pain on Monday made for "the worst day, and then it turned" for the better.

Ripa said she's still trying to get used to her doctor's orders to stay off her feet, as she finds herself instinctively springing into action to answer the door or the phone.

"I am like the worst patient, I really am," she said.

The New Jersey native said she glumly spent the rest of her Monday watching her hometown New York Jets lose big to their rival New England Patriots.

On Monday's show,  Ripa  said that she went to the doctor after mistakenly thinking a lingering pain was from a torn muscle. After doctors were able to properly diagnose her condition, they ordered Ripa -- a self-proclaimed exercise junkie -- to slow it down for the next 3 to 6 weeks.
