The stars of TLC’s controversial new show Sister Wives appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show Thursday where they faced tough questions from the queen of daytime, and RadarOnline.com has the footage.
“We figured that by showing our lives, we’d actually help the society be more transparent, have other people in the – in the lifestyle feel safer about being transparent,” Kody Brown told Oprah when asked why they took a risk by going public with their lifestyle on national television.
Brown’s family consists of four wives and a total of 16 children.
“I don’t even want to think about that at all,” third wife Christine said when Oprah asked what will happen if Utah state authorities pursue charges against the Polygamist family.
“We never asked for the state to give us any sort of acknowledge or anything for our family.”
Brown’s first wife Meri said, “We wanted to be free to be this family.”
