After Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's run on Dancing With The Stars ended Tuesday, the reality star made the obligatory exit appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he said he was surprised at suffering the agony of defeat so soon.

"What are you gonna do? I tried my best, obviously I'm not a dancer, it was not dancing with the professionals, it was dancing with the situation," said the Jersey Shore star, the fourth contestant eliminated this season after actor David Hasselhoff, singer Michael Bolton and comic Margaret Cho.

His partner Karina Smirnoff demurred at calling The Sitch the hardest worker she's ever coached, but did say he "put in a lot of work and a lot of hours."

The Sitch said, "I knew it was gonna be hard, but not that hard. I knew, I knew, but when I really got down to doing it, I was like, 'Awww man, maybe i should have rethought the situation,'" to which Kimmel joked, "Ironically you found yourself in a bad situation."

The Situation said he thought he would “definitely not be eliminated” in the fourth round, under the guise that his rabid fans would float him for another week.

“And then all of a sudden, bing bang boom -- I was eliminated,” he said. “It was a tense situation.”

Dancing With The Stars continues Monday at 8/7c on ABC, and for all you fans of The Sitch, new episodes of Jersey Shore air on MTV Thursdays at 10/9c.
