Grammy-winning singer Celine Dion was hospitalized Sunday in Florida in an effort to prevent the early birth of the twin boys she's expecting, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The singer is at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, her rep told the AP, adding that she's there just to make sure doctors are on hand for all events up until the birth. Dion is in the third trimester of her pregnancy.
The hospital said in a statement that Dion checking in early "is a fairly common clinical practice for mothers of twins.
“This is done to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth," according to the hospital.
Dion, 42, and her husband René Angélil, 68, have a 9-year-old son, Rene Charles, who was conceived by in vitro fertilization.
