What the heck is going on over at American Idol?
With cross-country auditions for the next edition of the popular Fox talent show already in progress, we still don't know who the three - or four- judges on the panel will be come January when the show kicks off its tenth season.
With Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres gone, and rumors rampant that Kara DioGuardi has been fired, Randy Jackson appears to be the last man --or judge -standing.

And what's the deal with Jennifer Lopez? It was widely reported that J-Lo was locked-in as a judge, but Thursday, People said that FOX had broken off talks with the Love Don't Cost A Thing singer because she was demanding more than $20 million a year for the gig, as well as her own hair, makeup, styling team and "dressing room compound."
In an apparent response to stories of her diva-like requests, Jenny On The Block Tweeted, 'Hmmm... what should I wear today?' and posted a photo of her lavish diamond jewelry, feathered hats and multiple makeup cases.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, another bonafide diva would love the job.
Nick Cannon told the Hollywood Reporter that wife Mariah Carey is interested.
"You know what? She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that.' She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great," Cannon said. "I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol. Let's start the campaign!"
As for Aerosmith leader singer Steven Tyler, he was asked Thursday in New York City if he was joining Idol as a judge, as was widely reported. Tyler said, "I don't know...Is that the rumor you heard? They haven't called me yet.. They have to lay out the bread for me.."
