RadarOnline.com has learned socialite Paris Hilton will appear before a South African court after she was detained following a World Cup game.
The hotel heiress was picked up, along with a group of friends, in Port Elizabeth after the Netherlands' defeat of Brazil in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
She was detained on suspicion that she was in possession of marijuana.
A Johannesburg radio station said police arrested Hilton outside the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. However, Hilton's Los Angeles based rep denies she was arrested.
"She was found in possession of some amount of dagga," said a police officer, using the local name for marijuana.
"We don't know how much. It's a high-profile person; only the top cops are dealing with it."
Paris was still being questioned by police around 3.15pm PT, RadarOnline.com confirmed.
