Letterman pounced on Goodman about his newly-svelte appearance early, telling The Big Lebowski star, "You look wonderful!"
Goodman said, "It's kinda like letting the gas out of the balloon," before admitting that at his peak weight, he was "pushing 400 pounds."
Goodman explained of his cyclical weight gain: "I'd get off of 'Roseanne' every spring. I'd lose 60 lbs every spring. Then I got too fond of the barley corn and start missing it too much -- I'd gain it back and then some, every year."
Goodman joked he was "breaking furniture" at his heaviest point, and said he feels revitalized after the changes he's made in his life.
"It's like night and day," the Roseanne star said. "I'm getting a lot of exercise, feeling great -- it's going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life."
