Despite what Jeremy London’s wife said she was told by police, there is NOT a rash of crooks robbing people, putting guns to their heads and forcing them to smoke drugs.
RadarOnline.com contacted law enforcement officials in Palm Springs, California after Melissa London backed up her husband’s fantastical tale that he was robbed, held at gun point and forced to ‘smoke drugs.”
Melissa told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview: “Police told us this is the new thing to do down here... rob people at gunpoint and make them do drugs so they won’t be reliable witnesses. It’s happening more and more.”
But police contacted by RadarOnline.com say that’s not true.
Detective Steve Douglas of Palm Springs police department said he wasn’t aware of any such incidents. He said: "There haven’t been any incidents that I can recall, of gang members kidnapping tourists with flat tires and then forcing them to do drugs."
And Palm Springs Watch Commander Sergeant Cabrara said: “We have not had a rash of them - they are not commonplace here in Palm Springs.
“Although we have crime just like anywhere else we believe that Palm Springs is a safe place to visit.
“However, I do not want to talk about specifics in this particular case.”
But both London and his wife are sticking to their story which has sent shockwaves through the desert tourist-spot and left one man behind bars and police searching for two other suspects.
“This is real. Jeremy’s still in shock. He was very scared,” Melissa told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive video interview. “People don’t understand that police only have one of the guys in custody. There are still two suspects out there. We’re very scared.”
As RadarOnline.com reported, Melissa and Jeremy say they discovered their car had a flat tire after leaving a Palm Springs Jack In The Box on June 10.
Three men offered to help them fix the flat and when London tried to give them a ride home, they robbed him at gunpoint and made him smoke drugs
That was after Melissa was given a ride home.
“I can tell you that Jeremy was scared for his life. He’s still scared. This is real. It really happened and we’re working with police to get these guys behind bars.” Melissa told RadarOnline.com.
As RadarOnline.com reported, the couple has been struggling for money in recent months and are working together to regain custody of their son. Both London and his wife Melissa must undergo random drug testing as part of their effort to regain custody.
