Lopez told Michaels that it "was really good to see him" in the rocker's first appearance on the TBS talk show since he suffered a brain hemorrhage on April 21 that left him in the hospital for two weeks.
Lopez flashed to an image of Michaels in his hospital bed wearing a bandana, which got the rocker to recall how the pic had been snapped at a heavy moment following his surgery -- and his doctor's ominous suggestion to see his children.

Said Michaels: "I begged my doctor, I said, 'Please don't let me go out in that gown -- Give me a cape, a bandana, anything! -- I want to go out with the boots on and guns blazing!'"
While Michaels was told to rest for six weeks before getting back to work, he kicks off a 40-show tour in at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi Friday, which is slated to run through October.
Michaels said while he feels he's only at 75 percent, he's gonna give "100 percent of his 75 percent" and "rock it" when he hits the stage.
Lopez Tonight, airs weeknights on TBS at 11/10c.
