Former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson has become involved in a messy legal battle to stop the release of a sordid sex tape, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The 24-year-old pin-up’s lawyer Yael E. Holtkamp - from powerhouse firm Lavely and Singer in Los Angeles - has asked porn giants Vivid Entertainment to ‘cease and desist’ with releasing the video which could highly embarrass the married reality TV star.

Their scathing letter to Vivid reads: “The video is private and highly confidential taken for private use and not for public disclosure.

“Any exploitation of the video would be a gross violation of Miss Wilkinson’s constitutional and common law rights of privacy.”

Sources have revealed that Wilkinson knew about the video but that she made it with a man she trusted and never thought that it would be released to the public.

She is unsure who sold the steamy footage to Vivid, which is the same company that released the Kim Kardashian sex tape too.

And although the model and her legal team are fighting to stop the tape from being  released, she’s terrified that it could potentially shatter her marriage to her NFL football star Hank Baskett.

The couple got married last June and she had their baby son Hank IV on December 11, 2009.

“He is the best thing that ever happened to me and Hank – every day he changes a little bit and I find-out something new,” she recently told OK! Magazine.

Wilkinson has admitted to having had a wild past – confiding on E! True Hollywood Story in March that she experimented with drugs and alcohol.

But now that she has found happiness in her marriage and with her new son the threat of the release of the sex tape is tormenting her.

Friends of the model say that she has re-invented herself as a family woman who loves to bake for her husband and she cannot bear the though that her former wild child ways  could now come back to haunt her.

When she started dating Hank – who is a wide receiver with The Philadelphia Eagles – Wilkinson was coy about her racy Playboy images because she was worried that his family might judge her.

She became paranoid that they would think that she was not the marrying kind but they really supported her and Hank stood by her also.

But although he was cool about her being Playboy chief Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend, Kendra is terrified that he might not think the same way of her if a less than glamorous sex tape becomes public.

And CEO of Vivid Steve Hirsch does not look like he’s backing-down in the aftermath of receiving the legal warning from Wilkinson’s lawyers.

He said: “After reviewing our legal position we remain confident of our right to distribute the video. Thus Vivid.Com plans to release Kendra Exposed within the next several weeks.”
