EXCLUSIVE: Mindy McCready's Mom Thinks Mindy May Be Trying To Frame Her

Mindy McCready’s mom thinks the country star may be trying to get her in trouble with the law after Mindy’s alleged overdose Tuesday, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
Gayle McCready Inge told RadarOnline.com “Mindy is lying and telling people that the day I took her to the hospital I gave her four Darvocet. I mean, that actually sounds like she’s trying to frame me.”
Mindy was rushed to a Fort Myers, Florida hospital on Tuesday after allegedly overdosing on drugs and attempting suicide. Gayle had a prescription for the painkiller Darvocet and admits to giving some to Mindy on Saturday when Mindy broke her toe—not on Tuesday.
Gayle told RadarOnline.com “I have to tell you I am giving someone who has an issue with drugs some medication. But I have a heart and she was screaming. I didn’t give her the medicine. I had the bottle and I handed it to David her boyfriend because she was laying on the couch and he was standing. And I handed it to him and he opened it and she grabbed it and took two pills right in front of me. I said ‘Mindy, one of these puts me out for a day and a half. You only need but one of those,’ but she took two in her mouth. That was on a Saturday night. When this happened this was on a Tuesday. I had not given her any medication, so I just assumed she took those. However, it’s not in her system. I have spoken with the sheriff’s department, I realize what they’re trying to say and do to me and it’s not true.”
In Florida, it is illegal to give prescription drugs to someone else who is not on the prescription.

But when RadarOnline.com contacted Mindy’s attorney James Moon, he said “I don’t want Gayle removed from the picture or anything like that.”
Gayle has guardianship of Mindy’s 4-year-old son Zander, because Mindy wasn’t capable of taking care of him. Now she says she’s ready to have custody back and is trying to prove her case to the court.
“If Mindy can’t have Zander, we don’t want him to end up in foster care,” Moon admitted.
If Gayle is actually prosecuted for giving her daughter prescription drugs, Moon says “it would be the most irresponsible thing to happen.”
Mindy has been released from the hospital and is now at her home in Nashville.
