EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Family Members Rallying Around Wife Of TV Chef Juan-Carlos Cruz

While former Food Network star Juan-Carlos Cruz is being held on $2 million bail after pleading not guilty Monday to the attempted murder of his wife Jennifer Campbell by way of solicitation of murder, has learned that his wife's family is rallying around her during this time of shock and confusion.

"Jenny and her mother and father were over at her sister's house yesterday afternoon," a close family member of Campbell's who wishes to remain anonymous exclusively told "I had no reason in the world to believe this would ever happen."

The family member expressed to that Campbell and Cruz were close to their extended family and often got together for holidays and family gatherings. Campbell has remained silent since news broke of her husband's alleged murder hit on her.

"I've had Thanksgiving dinner with Jenny and Juan-Carlos and always thought he was nice," the family member said. "I never had any incling that this would happen. There were no problems in their marriage that I knew of.

"Some family members are speculating that maybe he Cruz went off the deep end or something," the family member continued. "I think it surprised all of us."

TV Chef Arrested In Murder Plot

The Calorie Commando and Weighing In host was arrested last Thursday after allegedly approaching two homeless men in the trendy Third Street Promenade of Santa Monica in an attempt to hire them to murder his wife.
