Country singer Mindy McCready has been hospitalized in Florida, has learned.

She was taken to Cape Coral Hospital for treatment. Although reports say she may have suffered from a possible drug overdose, her mother Gayle McCready Inge told her daughter took some pain medication after she broke her toe, and that they both do NOT think it's an overdose.

She was initially found at her mother's house in North Fort Myers after emergency responders were called to the residence at 10:38 am.

Authorities say she was alert when she was taken to the hospital.

In an exclusive interview, Mindy's mom told us, "She just called us a few minutes ago and she wants to come home."

McCready, who went through Celebrity Rehab and is in close contact with Dr. Drew Pinsky, has been the center of controversy for a few months now. Her sex tape Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress was recently released against her public objections. And just last week, she was in a Florida court trying to get custody of her 4-year-old son Zander.

The 34-year-old singer, who is called “Marilyn Monroe” by her son, has been allowed to visit him only under the supervision of his mother Gayle. After the hearing, Mindy told that she thought her celebrity was getting in the way of justice.
