Oprah Winfrey won’t give her phone number to her mother.

That’s what author Kitty Kelley contends as she promotes her new unauthorized biography about Oprah.

And confirmed with a source who knows Oprah’s mom that Vernita has to call Oprah’s personal assistant and leave a message.

“The assistant tells Oprah what her mother wants and then the assistant calls Vernita back and tells her what Oprah said,” the source told, but added that Oprah does talk to her mother directly at times.
