Grammy-award winning rocker Melissa Etheridge and her partner Tammy have ended their nine-year relationship, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period," the pair, who have two children, said in a statement to People.com Thursday.
The 48-year-old singer of hits such as I Wanna Come Over and Come To My Window married then-Tammy Lynn Michaels in a September 2003 ceremony in Malibu, California.
Tammy (with the help of an anonymous sperm donor) gave birth to their twins, son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose, on October 17, 2006.
Etheridge also has two children, Bailey, 13, and Beckett, 11, with her former love Julie Cypher.
