The couple, who have two children, had been staying at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun when Monica was reported missing. Her body was found in a sewer at the resort on Thursday morning.
On Friday, Bruce was released from Mexican custody but remains under investigation. He is not allowed to leave the country, according to investigator Veronica Acacio.
Francisco Alor, the attorney general for Quintana Roo state where the Cancun resort is located, confirmed that Bruce had scratches on his arms and face and that resort guests heard an argument in the couple's room on Monday night. A hotel employee was sent to check on the couple. Earlier on Thursday, the previous state attorney General Bello Rodriguez said a security guard saw the couple arguing on Monday night as well and said Bruce tried to hit Monica.
Beresford-Redman worked on the hit CBS show Survivor, winning three Emmys during his tenure. He also produced Pimp My Ride and The Restaurant. Monica was the owner of Zabumba Bar & Restaurant in Venice, Calif., a Brazilian eatery.
