Redmond O’Neal is as baffled as everyone else on why his mom, Farrah Fawcett, was missed out of the “In Memoriam” segment that ran during this year’s Academy Awards. In an exclusive statement through his attorney Richard Pintal, Redmond tells RadarOnline.com, “It’s pretty unexplainable. She would be baffled. But I am not surprised. It is happening again. My mom should have gotten an Emmy for The Burning Bed, now this.”

It was a shocking omission, Lesley Unger a rep for the Academy, explained to RadarOnline.com that "there are many angles that are looked at as to who to include and unfortunately we don't include everyone."
Redmond’s father, Ryan O’Neal plans to write a letter of protest to the Academy, and told RadarOnline.com, “It was a terrible decision and very hurtful. Farrah was a member of the Academy for over 40 years and we could not believe she did not get a mention."
Meantime, Farrah will forever live on in her son’s memory, and Redmond’s attorney shares that even though she is gone she is still helping her son through his difficult recovery from years of substance abuse. “Redmond misses his mother terribly,” Pintal tells RadarOnline.com. “But as he has said before, he is motivated by his mother, their love, their very close relationship and deep bond, to move forward in his life in a healthy manner.”
