After two nail-biting weeks marred with injuries, delays, and speculation, American ski phenomenon Lindsey Vonn got what she came to the Olympics for: a gold medal.

"I have a race tomorrow so I don't think there is too much celebration for me," Vonn said as she signed autographs to waiting fans.

Vonn beat out teammate Julia Mancuso on Wednesday to become the first American woman to win the Olympic downhill with a time of 1 minute and 44.19 seconds.
