Hollywood friends and colleagues of Andrew Koenig, the Growing Pains star who was found dead in Vancouver Thursday after a week-long search, took to Twitter to remember the actor, who authorities say committed suicide.
RadarOnline.com has been keeping tabs on this sad story, and on the stars for their reaction to the tragedy.
Sarah Silverman Tweeted: "My heart is heavy for the Koenig family," while Alyssa Milano wrote, "If you know someone suffering from depression, please do everything in your power to get them help. R.I.P. Andrew. "
William Shatner, who worked extensively with Koenig's father Walter on Star Trek projects, sent his "deepest sympathies to Andrew Koenig's family."
"I will grieve with them," he wrote.
Another child star-turned-actor, Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me, Star Trek: The Next Generation), Tweeted: "Oh my god. I just heard that Andrew Koenig's body has been found in Vancouver. He was only 41. My heart goes out to his family."
Former Full House star Candace Cameron, brother of Koenig's Growing Pains co-star Kirk, said the incident was "heartbreaking. Our prayers go out 2 his family."
Marlee Matlin Tweeted that "watching Walter Koenig's press conference about his son's death is heartbreaking.”
“Don't ignore depression; recognize it and get help," Matlin wrote.
Koenig appeared in 27 episodes of Growing Pains as the character Richard "Boner" Stabone over five seasons in the late 80s.
