The producers of the Oscars are telling nominees to save their Thank Yous and be funny instead, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Countdown To Oscars: Red Carpet Worthy Designers

Gabourey Sidibe, who is nominated for her powerful role in Precious, says “They actually don’t want you to thank anyone they don’t know—not the producer or like, sound technicians for anything of that,” she said Thursday morning to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM,  Los Angeles.

“They said to be funny. ‘Say something that you mean, then be funny,’” she says. “Then backstage there’s like a 'Thank You Cam’ where you can thank everyone for as long as possible and they’ll put it on the web. And you can email it to those you thanked.”

Gabourey says she has already picked her dress for the awards March 7th. “I did my very first fitting with it yesterday. It’s a dress and not a stupid pantsuit,” the plus size actress said proudly. “I’m not going to wear that to the Oscars! It’s going be awesome.”
