Pamela Lljubo-O’Brien has the best job. She gets to play with make-up all day. As the Head of make-up for NBC, she works closely with the cast of the hit comedy, Community, and gives us the inside Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs and Alison Brie. The beautiful Peruvian also shared the with us her go-to tips, her predictions for future trends, and gave wonderful advice about getting ready to walk the red carpet!
RadarOnline.com: Do the actors make you crack up all the time?
Pamela: "Oh! Certainly. Especially Joel, because he entertains by educating. He's very intelligent, and I'm always trying to think of ways to get back at him. But we have fun all the time, and after an 18 hour day, it's nice to have that support system. I wouldn't say that the cast consider themselves colleagues, it's more like family."
RadarOnline.com: We understand everyone on the show has a favorite Lather product?
Pamela: Joel loves the Shave Face kit. Since he has to shave everyday, this is all he uses now. Gillian is very low maintenance, and her go-to item is the lavender lime lip treatment, which she uses even her on time. Alison adores the Sweet Almond Moisturizer. What sets Lather aside from other novel skin care lines is their holistic approach, which includes lightweight, organic ingredients that are pareben free. She says the products are so safe; she even uses them on babies!
RadarOnline.com: What are your go-to make-up tips?
Pamela: No matter what foundation or base you sue, radiance comes from underneath the skin. Hydrating from the inside as well as on the outside is crucial. Exfoliate your skin at least once a week, that way less touch ups are needed. Durability is very important, and for that I use Colorescience lip polish in Hot Petal. Then I chase it with Lather's Lavender Lime Lip Treatment. Also, Stila's illuminating Liquid Foundation because it's not a cover, it’s a color balance.
RadarOnline.com: Any new trends?
Pamela: With HD becoming so standard, I think that consumers are going to want a natural, organic, polished face. Again, hydrating from the inside out. I think it's going to be about embracing what's there. In terms of fashion, I see warm, healthy tones. I can't imagine a matte face coming back into style.
RadarOnline.com: What are your makeup essentials to pack when on the Red Carpet?
Pamela: Smashbox anti shine compact, Lather Lavender Lime Lip Treatment, and Colorescience lip polish. That's all you should need. The rest is all about prepping the body and the skin.
RadarOnline.com: What advice would you give to celebrities going to all the award shows?
Pamela: Prep your skin and body. I know I keep repeating it, but it's crucial. Not just for award shows, but for any appearance. It'll make any product you use blend into your skin much more easily.
