Gary Coleman has settled a personal injury lawsuit stemming from an incident back in September 6th 2008, where the former child star and his wife were accused of assaulting a fan and trying to run him over with their truck.
The fan, Colt Rushton alleged that Coleman’s wife, Shannon Price, snatched his phone outside of a bowling alley after Rushton refused to pay a fee for photographing her husband.
Rushton said that Coleman then ran into him with his pick up truck and subsequently struck another vehicle as he left the parking lot.
Coleman And Price’s Divorce Court Fiasco
The suit was dismissed Tuesday after Coleman, Price and the disgruntled Rushton reached a confidential settlement agreement.
Meantime Coleman pleaded no contest in a Provo Utah court to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and reckless driving.
Coleman and Price are no strangers when it comes to scrapes with the law, Coleman has been arrested for assault on a fan before. In 1998 bus driver Tracy Fields claims the actor, who was shopping in a Hawthorn, CA, mall for a bullet proof vest for his job as a security guard at a local mall, punched her “several times” after she asked him to write more than his standard autograph on a piece of paper.

Coleman plead no contest to an amended charge of disturbing the peace and the judge sentenced him to 90-days in jail, but suspended the sentence. He also put Coleman on probation for a year, fined him, and ordered him to stay away from Tracy Fields. Coleman was also ordered to complete 52 anger management sessions within a year. For her part Fields went on to file a $1 million civil lawsuit.
And it’s not just Coleman that has a bit of a temper. Price was arrested back in July after a domestic dispute with Coleman at their Santaquin home in Utah. However, no charges were filed in the end.
Looks like both Mr and Mrs Coleman could do with some more anger management classes!
